As part of our new Arbennig Partnership program, we are so pleased to announce that we are now promoting one of our favourite local pubs!

 The Raven Inn is situated just 10 minutes drive from Arbennig Luxury Lodges and located in the beautiful village of Llanarmon-yn-ial, that sits under the Clwydian hills in a designated area of outstanding national beauty. Llanarmon-yn-ial is one of the few remaining villages in the area that still has a church, shop, school and local pub.

 The pub was put up for auction in 2009 and even though the community tried to purchase the Raven Inn, it failed to reach the reserve price and the pub was then closed. The village community then decided to take over the lease on the pub and save it, with the whole community pitching in and also  giving it a new lick of paint and redecoration inside and out.

Run by volunteers and with any profit used to fund village projects, the pub has gone from strength to strength and has been run as a cooperative ever since 2009. The Raven Inn is once again the hub of the village, bringing all of the community together. Open 6 days a week, it’s also the centre of many social events in the village throughout the year. Offering mouth watering locally sourced food and some of the best local ales like Cwrw ial  and Snowdonia Ale, you can be assured of a warm Raven Inn welcome when you visit.

 Royalty has even pulled a pint behind the bar, when the Prince of Wales and the Dutchess of Cornwall visited Llanarmon-yn-ial in October 2018. Both Prince Charles and Camilla tasted some of the wonderful local ales as well as playing a round of darts with some of the villagers.

The Raven Inn also has some great events during the year, like the Great Spud Competition, The 3 Tavern Tour and the Carol Concert held every December. We will be featuring more information about these wonderful events in our news section in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

The community has also used their expertise to take over the village shop, just a stones throw from the Raven Inn. This quintessential village shop is also run by volunteers in the village, selling everything you could ever need and is definitly worth a visit to pick up any supplies during your stay at Arbennig Luxury Lodges. You can also enjoy a tea or coffee while enjoying a delicious locally made cake at the store, as you watch village life go by in this beautiful Welsh setting.
